Wilfrid Laurier University

Wilfrid Laurier University is named after the legendary Sir Wilfrid Laurier, who has been on two Canadian stamps and is also adorning the Canadian $5 bill. He was Canada’s 7th prime minister who served 45 years in the House of Commons from 1896-1911. This great nation builder is known for promoting individual liberty and his skills at conciliation.

The university has its two biggest campuses in Waterloo and Brantford. It also has a Faculty of Social Work in Kitchener and a weekend MBA program in Toronto. Of Laurier’s 19,000 graduate and undergraduate students, 16,000 are registered at the university’s Waterloo campus and more than 3,000 students are enrolled at Laurier’s Brantford campus.
