Lakehead University

Lakehead University is a public research university that evolved from Lakehead Technical Institute and Lakehead College of Arts, Science and Technology, established in 1946. It got the university status in 1965.

Often known as Lakehead U or LU, it has campuses in Thunder Bay, Orillia and Barrie, Ontario. The main campus in Thunder Bay is about 1400 kms from Toronto and Orillia is about 150 kms from Toronto. It has been included in the Times Higher Education’s list of top universities from around the world. It has more than 45,000 alumni and the main campus in Thunder Bay has about 7,900 students. Lakehead offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in 10 faculties – Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Graduate Studies, Health and Behavioural Sciences, Law, Medicine, Natural Resources Management, Science and Environmental Studies, and Social Sciences and Humanities. It is geared towards your academic success.
